This fellowship is designed to support student-centered education through culturally responsive instruction and family engagement.

Learning for Equity Year 2 Goal

Increase student confidence and proficiency in math by boosting culturally responsive instruction in each school & designing community math activities with families.

Math Fellowship learning commitment, September-June

  • Participate in three in-person quarterlies to cross-pollinate ideas and break-throughs.
  • Bi-weekly culturally responsive instructional support from a coach
  • Practice teaching strategies that increase student confidence and proficiency in math, via culturally responsive teaching tools
  • Join networkwide learning labs to share teaching practice with fellows and teachers in your school
  • Share stories or progress and lessons learned with larger network community- in the form of interviews, surveys and testimonials.
Learning commitment*

Participation in the co-design of family math activities

Work with a school-team (both fellows and administration) and participate in real-time with families to develop activities that accompany or enhance the EnVision at-home math materials (optional opportunity with additional stipend)!
  • Willingness to help outreach and recruit families furthest from educational justice from your school
  • Participation in 8 1.5 hour facilitated sessions from January to August with families
  • Help school to adopt/work on a family created materials

Northwest Math Conference

The Learning for Equity Network has limited funds to support travel and conference fees for the Northwest Math Conference October 13th to 15th in Tacoma Washington.
